The main function of a manufacturing firm is no doubt the production of goods. Decisions concerning production depend on the time period in question. There are two time periods which that determine and influence production decisions; the short run and long run period.
The short run period is one over which the quality of at least one factor of production cannot be varied, the other term they are also called fixed factors. It is vital to the success of a home-based or online business to draw web traffic to the site where products are being sold. The internet is a great money maker, but it has a strange system all its own, particularly with the use of search engines. You can have the greatest website selling the most useful product in the world, but if no one sees it when they type in what they are looking for into the search engine, then all the work can be for nothing. How to write articles for online businesses is a vital skill for someone who is just starting out with their own website, especially.
These articles that are written are based around the keywords that are discovered with the use of a keyword search mechanism such as Wordtracker. This will identify the key phrases and search terms that real people are currently using within the time frame that you are identifying. October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and as a pageant director near one of the largest cities in the U.S, I felt compelled to form an outreach program to benefit our local women’s center. The United Southern States pageant system is proud to be community centered and scholarship based. Our contestants are active volunteers and role models in the Houston area communities, including the Woodlands. This year, we are involved in several programs that will supply clothing, personal items and school supplies to the shelter. Many shelters operate as private non-profit organizations serving the victims and survivors of family violence, sexual assault, stalking, and sexual abuse. They offer innovative programs and caring interaction to all victims and survivors whose lives have been touched by violence.
Statistics show that nearly 2 out of 3 female victims were related to or knew their attacker. Over two-thirds of violent victimizations against women were committed by someone known to them: 31% of female victims reported that the offender was a stranger. Approximately 28% were intimates such as husbands or boyfriends, 35% were acquaintances, and the remaining 5% were other relatives. (more…)
About two months ago, I made an important business decision to change banks. I used to bank with our community credit union but felt it was time to move my business to a more established bank which has many locations. Let’s just say the convenience factor of having a branch close by, no matter where you are, made sense.
I recently visited this more “established” bank and I was caught off guard when the Account Officer who assisted me when I opened my account welcomed me by name. What could have been his secret for remembering my face and name, when I guess he has talked a few hundred people in the past month or two? After some time of talking to him I could no longer contain my curiosity and I had to ask him if he was blessed with a photographic memory. Well, no such luck. He reminded me that I gave him my business card with my photo on it. I guess I cheated a bit by having my personal photo on the business card, but this concept works the same, though not as effective, if you have a business card that is very pictographic. You want your prospective customer to associate the card with your business, or even better as I explained above, associate your business with your face. (more…)
